CEFCO Remodel

TDLR filings show a possible CEFCO to Casey’s conversion scheduled in Shamrock

SHAMROCK — A recently filed construction project indicates the CEFCO Travel Center at 1249 N. Main Street could undergo a conversion to Casey’s in 2027.

The project, registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation on Oct. 16, is titled “Casey’s – Shamrock, TX.” It calls for an estimated $620,000 interior remodel of the existing 4,665-square-foot convenience store.

Construction is scheduled to begin Feb. 15, 2027, with completion listed for April 19, 2027. Those dates are estimates and could change. The filing currently carries a status of “Project Registered.”

The project address matches CEFCO Travel Center #2006.

Although the filing does not explicitly describe a brand conversion, the Casey’s project name and matching address point to that possibility.

Casey’s completed its acquisition of Fikes Wholesale, CEFCO’s parent company, in November 2024. The company says acquired stores are typically rebranded as Casey’s after being remodeled to include a full-service kitchen.

The Shamrock filing does not specify kitchen changes, future food offerings or plans for the Subway at the location. It also does not establish an official reopening date under the Casey’s name.
